Disable Blackberry Browser via IT Policy
So you have a Blackberry Enterprise Server running version 5, and you want to disable the Blackberry Browser and force all users, or maybe just a few, to use the Internet Browser instead. Why would you want to do this? Well the Blackberry browser routes the handheld’s browser traffic through your BES, then out to the internet. The PRO’s of this are that it allows you to give access to internal web applications/sites to handheld users without needing to open your security. Well if you don’t host internal sites/apps this is one extra hop for your BES devices which may cause some delays for users attempting to browse the internet. Disable it by following the instructions found at Experts Exchange.
